Top 8 Sights at Canyonlands National Park

Canyonlands National Park is my favorite canyon themed national park. Why? Because it's more human sized and has more interesting, complex landscape than Grand, Zion, Bryce and Black canyons. You can do the traditional auto - hike tour, or go on long 4-wheel adventures, or go deep into the wilderness hiking. The scenery is multi-dimensional. This video shows you the top 8 sights at Canyonlands ...

There is two tour offices direct at the entrance of lower Antilope Canyon, Ken and Dixie, both are not so expensive, $70.00 pp on June 2024, groups of 15 and separate from.each other by 15 minutes, you have enough time for pictures and in my opinion it totally worth tej Trip.

I have only been to 32 parks (but have several more scheduled by the end of next year!) I value diversity and remote/ruggedness. I haven't hated any park so far, but my favorites: Yellowstone, Denali, Kings Canyon/Sequoia (I consider them one) Arches and Olympic. Honorable mention: Yosemite, Carlsbad Caverns, Zion and Th Roosevelt. Most beautiful sunset= White Sands. I have no plans to currently, but would love to visit Big Bend the most.

I've heard or read somewhere that if it was outside the Navajo Nation, it would be a national park, though I don't know whether it's the USA, National Park Service, or the Navajos that prevent it.

If you like Kayaking, it is a heaven - no where else is like that canopy creek - so long you can easily spend some hours/half a day on the river even if the water level is as low as 3!

I came across this while planning a trip to antelope canyon from east coast. I am so glad that I have saved my vacation time and money from this tourist trap. It is probably just like picture perfect northern lights which you can only capture little with naked eyes. Thanks a lot for your honest opinions.

Spent 13 days camping throughout Big Bend and Terlingua in 2008, saw a black bear casually eating a snickers bar and a deer let me pet it. Climbed the Chisos, saw and sat with my legs dangling into Mexico. Bought my first and only bag of chewing tobacco (yes I took and held a whole chaw) in a roadside cafe/store in Terlingua abaja/ghost town...point being, I wound up in New Mexico as a volunteer at Carlsbad Caverns NP, later to be hired as a seasonal worker for two years (four seasons) Being from the South, it was almost like I lived and loved the Desert in a former life....Great memories!

08:08 This was an excellent video but just to let viewers know. That hike down to the edge of Cavell Pond is a CLOSED section. Yes, people still go down as in this video but make no mistake there are plenty of signs stating it is closed. Most likely you'll get a warning but if you give attitude they can evict you from the park and even fine/jail you. I've noticed Parks Canada doesn't really mess around once it gets to that stage and hefty fines are given out. For me, I'm a visitor to Canada so do my best to respect their laws and restrictions. Plus, if I did earn a fine/jail time it can also cause me to be denied entry into Canada itself. No thanks, I'd like to return.
